Among other things with the phylogenetic system of fossil and recent damselflies and dragonflies (Insecta: Odonata), a synoptic geological timetable, and a glossary of phylogenetic systematics.

Systematics and phylogeny of fossil and extant odonates.

Systematics and phylogeny of fossil and extant dragonflies. Description of numerous new species of fossil dragonflies and reconstruction of the phylogenetic tree of the different groups of dragonflies, as well as studies on the evolution of particular organs and behaviours.

tuberculatus from the Lower Cretaceous of Brazil.

Fossil insects in Baltic and Dominican amber

e.g. damselflies, mayflies, tropical bugs, and the parasitic wasp family Dryinidae. Besides descriptions of new species, also studies on the phylogenetic relationships, distributional history and palaeoecology.

Palmwanze: Recently described palm-bug Proxylastodoris
gerdae from Baltic amber.

Fossil insects from limestones from the Upper Jurassic of southern Germany (Solnhofen and Nusplingen)

e.g. the first record of hanging flies.

Mueckenhaft: The first hanging fly from the famous Solnhofen
limestones.

Fossil insects from the Lower Cretaceous of Brazil (Crato limestones).

Together with the other fossil animals and plants, the very diverse insect fauna from this locality allows a relatively detailed reconstruction of the former biotope.
