- Born in 1969. Studied biology with the main emphasis on botany in Göttingen.
- In 1998, MSc thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. H. Dierschke with the subject "Ecological Studies in Dry Slope Forests on Calcareous Soils at the Northwestern Border of the Thuringian Basin". During the following year employed at the Community for Biological Conservation in Göttingen.
- From 2001 to 2003, scientific trainee (bryology) at SMNS.
- Since 1997, occupation as an independant expert, e.g. for the Nature Reserve Hainich and for the Thuringian State Institute for Environment and Geology.
- Since 2003, working on the mycorrhization of the liverworts and hornworts as PhD student of Prof. Dr. F. Oberwinkler (Institute for Special Botany and Mycology, University of Tübingen) in collaboration with SMNS.
